Privacy, briefly.
What this site collects, why, and how to have it deleted.
Who I am
This site belongs to Joan Kiara, a content writer and customer experience specialist. For anything on this page, email hello@joankiara.com.
What I collect
The contact form gives me your name, email address, company or website, the topic you pick, your timeline and your message. An email gives me whatever it contains. I don't ask for anything else, and I don't buy contact lists.
Why I use it
Only to reply to you and discuss the work. I won't add you to a mailing list, and I don't sell or share your details for marketing.
Where it is stored
The site is hosted by Netlify, which also processes the contact form. Email sent to hello@joankiara.com is forwarded by Namecheap to a Gmail inbox. These providers may store data on servers in other countries, including the United States. Netlify keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and browser types, to run and protect the site.
How long I keep it
Messages that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months of our last exchange. If we work together, I keep project correspondence for as long as the contract and tax records require.
Analytics, cookies and fonts
This site uses no analytics and sets no tracking or advertising cookies. Fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when your browser requests them.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your details, a correction, or deletion. Email me and I'll act on it. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
